Today I have a tip to share with you that is one of my all time favorites. This is a very simple way to keep your (or your childrens’) shoes tied without having to tie an old-fashioned double knot!

My hubby’s grandmother taught him how to tie his shoes like this when he was a boy. He showed me how, and I’ve never gone back!
I decided to do a video because it’s a little hard to share pictures of yourself tying shoelaces!
For those of you who would rather have a visual reminder, I grabbed some snapshots from the video and included instructions. I hope it’s clear. I’d love to hear what you think!

Great tip Ginny! And fantastic job on your first video blog post!
Ginny,
Fabulous job on your first video blog! Easy to understand. Great tip.
Great tip. I tie the shoes of kiddo’s all day, every day. Very helpful.
Great tip! I showed all my kids this AM how to do it.
Very helpful tip that I will try first thing tomorrow morning! Great first vlog! And I love your new updated picture in your side bar.
This is a wonderful tip. I have a full leg brace from waist to toes. I have a hard time keeping my shoes ties. This is one tip I will definitely try! Thank you!
Thanks for your comment, Leah. I’m SO happy to hear it will help you.
Hi Ginny! I just found your website, love it! I too am a homeschooling mom of 4 and would love any tips you may have on organizing your homeschool space and daily schedule. Thanks so much! Also, great tip for tying shoes, will be teaching my girls tomorrow
OMG! This is a wonderful tip. I have a couple of pairs of athletic shoes that have long laces and I have to double knot them. NOT ANYMORE. I’m going to share this with my daughter who is a 2nd grade teacher. Thanks.
Thanks, CJ! I’m glad you like it. I love simple solutions for things, don’t you?
Brilliant! My daughter dislikes untying and tying her shoes everyday (because of the difficulty of untying the double knot) and often just slips them on and off while still tied (which causes Mama’s OCD twitch to act up).
I think this is the solution we’ve been seeking!
This is wonderful! There is endless frustration by my Kindergartener when attempting to untie his double-knotted laces~this is certain to remedy the problem. Thank you!
