Last year our family joined the multitudes who celebrate the coming of Christmas with Elf on the Shelf. We’re not crazy into the Santa side of Christmas, so we decided to change up the story a little. Instead of the elf reporting our kids’ naughty or nice behavior back to Santa, we tell our kiddos that the little elf, who we named Eli, needs to learn about being forgiven. He gets bored at night while we’re sleeping and gets into mischief. The kids love finding Eli each morning and discovering the antics he performed. Since we want Christ to be [...]

Welcome to Day 30 of my month long series “How to Organize Your Kitchen Frugally in 31 Days”. Every day during the month of October I will be sharing an organized space in my kitchen with you. My goal is to inspire you and give you ideas on how you can organize your kitchen. If you missed it, you may want to read why I’m embracing my outdated kitchen. It might give you a little perspective on why the pictures of my kitchen organization won’t be “magazine worthy”, but helpful for real life organization. If you’ve been following this series [...]

Last year I participated in month long series of posting every day for the month of October. I wanted to update my own home management binder, so I decided to make that my theme. Every day for 31 days, I made a new printable or a group of printables to create 31 Days of Home Management Binder printables. I offered them for free to help you, my sweet readers, get things organized in your lives. Many of you have asked that I put the printables into a single download so you don’t have to click through all 31 of the [...]
It’s here, it’s here! The 2013-2014 calendar has arrived in my shop! The calendar I made for my 31 day series on building a Home Management binder last year has been the most requested new printable for the last few months. I realize that last year’s calendar was free, but I hope you’ll understand that it takes a TON of time to create, so I have added it to my shop for this year. I know that many of you are on tight budgets, so I priced it low and it’s on sale right now for just $5! This calendar set [...]
I love putting together a little “Back to School” gift pack for my kids each year. Shopping for new pencils, binders, and backpacks, and just the overall feeling of starting fresh on a new school year is something I really enjoy. Although I homeschool my kids, we also participate in a weekly co-op school. Getting up at the crack of dawn to make lunches is not one of my favorite parts of Back to School season. It’s definitely not the time of day when I feel like being creative, but my kids get easily bored with the “same old sandwiches”. [...]

(winners have been notified by email) This summer, my family is doing something we’ve never done before: taking a two week vacation traveling through 6 states. I’ve been planning this vacation since January, researching, reading, asking YOU for recommendations on my Facebook (thanks for the great ideas – we’re using a bunch of them!). Planning a vacation this big has been a huge undertaking. Trying to figure out where to go, what to see, what to do, and where to stay has taken a lot of effort. A few months ago, I was so overwhelmed with the planning that I [...]
