Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread Cookies

Serves: 4 Doz.
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°. Cream shortening and brown sugar thoroughly. Stir in egg, molasses and vinegar beat well. Sift remaining ingredients and stir into mixture. Chill dough at least 3 hours. Lightly flour surface and roll 1/8″ thick. Place 1″ apart on baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
