How to Organize Kids’ Games and a FREE Printable Organizer

How to Make a Game Instructions Binder with FREE Printable

We love games.  We love family game nights and late night fun and games with friends.  Now that our kiddos are growing up, they’re enjoying playing with the games, too.  Unfortunately, they don’t have the same interest in caring for the games as my hubby and I. No matter how much we “encourage” them to put all the parts away when they’re finished playing, it seems like the one thing I constantly find left out are the instructions.  We all know a game is no good if you don’t know how to play it, so keeping the instructions with the […]

Nexcare Waterproof Bandages Review and Giveaway

Nexcare Waterproof Bandages

This time of year we spend a lot of time outside.  Our winters are long and cold here, so when the weather finally turns nice, we can hardly stay inside. The kids love roller-blading, riding bikes, swimming, and running around. But, along with the fun comes the occasional skinned knee and stubbed toe.  Ahhh, summertime. I was recently contacted by Nexcare Bandages to try some of their waterproof bandages.  We go through bandages like campers go through s’mores, and I thought some of you might be in the same boat, so I decided to try them and let you know […]

Patio Reveal – From Outdated to Updated

Updated Patio Reveal

If you missed it yesterday, I shared with you how my hubby and I figured out a way to fill the large gaps between our patio blocks to prevent debris from filling up the spaces and constantly looking messy.  Today, I’m showing you how I updated the look of the patio.  This is what the house looked like when we bought it seven years ago. One of the very first things we did was to remove the “S” swirls from the support posts.  They were tucked in between a space in the main supports that created a kind of track.  […]

Updating an Outdated Patio with Pea Gravel

Updating the Outdated Patio

Seven years ago, my hubby was hired to pastor a church 600 miles away from our family and friends and everything that was familiar to us.  I was nearly seven months pregnant with our fourth child, and I was just starting to get into the groove of homeschooling more than one child.  We knew that we wouldn’t have much help on big projects, so, although we looked at a “fixer-upper”, we opted to buy a house that didn’t need any major work done immediately. There were a number of things that were very outdated, including the bathrooms and kitchen (see […]

New Finish Dishwashing Products With Less Harsh Chemicals & Free Sample

Parent Tested Parent Approved Seal

A few months ago Finish Dishwashing asked me to check out their new “less harsh chemical” line of dishwashing detergents.  They are Finish® Power & Free™ and Jet-Dry® Power & Free™. I’m not a big fan of using harsh chemical cleaners, so when Finish told me about the hydrogen peroxide action they use in the Power & Free™ line I was interested to try it. I have to tell you that I didn’t expect it to be better than their original formula.  Sometimes the “lite” versions of products don’t seem to work as well.  But this dishwashing detergent rocks even […]

Organizing a Shared Closet (and some big NEWS)

EasyClosets Girl's Room

The other day on Facebook I asked if you liked organized closets.  Obviously it was a rhetorical question because EVERYONE likes and wants organized closets, am I right? Although organized closets are the stuff of my dreams, that was not reality in my girls’ room.  We have a three bedroom house and four kids: 3 girls and a boy.  That means all three of our girls share one bedroom. I must say that although their room is a good size and their reach-in closet is fairly large, it has been a challenge getting and keeping it organized.  With three girls […]
